West Indies Test Captain Kraigg Brathwaite seemed undaunted when he spoke with the media the day before the second Test bowls off against Sri Lanka on November 29, 2021. Having been spun into defeat by 187 runs, Brathwaite said his batsmen need to have clarity on what they want to do, and do it for an extended period.
He went on to say the team had had a lot of discussions and the key is to defend a lot of balls and have a straight bat. It sounds quite elementary. Let us see if the batsmen can come good, in what is the last Test match of the year. The Windies need these points towards the World Test Championships.
