I struck up the courage to request an interview with him and was chuffed when he agreed. I made sure to prepare my questions in advance, as I imagine he would have done, though his elephant-like memory meant that he perhaps did not need to. The person who will be most proud though is Miss Ann, his mother. Back in 2003, I went to the Smith house in Hermitage St Patrick to interview Devon. He was not there so I chatted with his parents first. Sadly, his father passed away a few years ago. As you will hear in the audio clip, Devon loves his parents, and I definitely got that feeling.
